HERNANDEZ-PUGA<\/h2>\n<\/div>Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Dr. Hernandez-Puga is glad to be working in her own community.\u00a0 She attended Immaculata-LaSalle High School in Coconut Grove, graduating at the top of her class. <\/a><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>At UM, she was president of her senior class, was the recipient of the Florida Pediatric Society Warren Quillian Award for Excellence in Pediatrics, and was initiated into the Iron Arrow Honor Society. \u00a0 After graduating from medical school, she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami\/ Jackson Memorial Hospital. Soon after, she joined the team at Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida \u2013 a center for children with special health care needs. During her 19 years at CDTC, she headed a multidisciplinary team of social workers and physicians handling a high volume of patients, worked with several foster care agencies evaluating complex cases, and taught pediatric residents.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Dr. Hernandez-Puga is specialty certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and the Florida Board of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
