In my initial role as a labor and delivery nurse, I had the privilege of being a part of some of the most transformative moments in my patients’ lives — experiences that profoundly impacted and inspired me. These moments instilled in me a deep desire to expand my role and become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, which allows me to provide care to women throughout their lifespan. Women are resilient, powerful, and beautifully complex in every season of life.”

What aspects of the practice are you most passionate about and why?

” I am most passionate about the educational aspect of practice because I believe that informed decision-making, grounded in evidence-based care, is key to improving health outcomes. It’s a privilege to walk alongside women, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to make choices that positively impact their well-being. It’s a privilege to be a part of that process — to empower women with knowledge, walk with them through major life decisions, and witness their confidence and well-being grow as a result. Watching a patient take ownership of her health — whether it’s navigating contraception, pregnancy, or menopause — is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.”

If you could offer one piece of advice to your female patients, what would it be?

“Give yourself grace. Each season of life — whether it’s early adulthood, motherhood, or menopause — comes with its own challenges, beauty, and growth. You’ve never been here before, so try to embrace every version of yourself, even the ones that feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable, because each stage is meaningful and worth honoring.”

What do you love most about Jacksonville and its surrounding beaches? Any particular spots you love?

“One of the best parts about moving to Jacksonville — aside from our amazing church community — has been discovering all the local gems, especially the incredible food and dessert spots. My husband and I keep a running list of restaurant recommendations (we try not to repeat places!), but Angie’s Subs and Whit’s Frozen Custard have become our forever favorites. We love going to sports games, taking bike rides, or grabbing takeout and enjoying a sunset on the beach. Living so close to the beach is something we never want to take for granted — it’s a lifestyle we truly cherish.”

For more information or to schedule an appointment with Gabby Ahrens, ARNP, contact Beaches OBGYN at (904) 241-9775 or use the Klara “message us” widget on this page.

We are thrilled to welcome Gabrielle Ahrens, ARNP, to the Beaches OBGYN family!
