Pasteurized 100% fruit juices, milk, and low-sodium broth can also help you stay hydrated. If you&#8217;re craving a sugary drink, you can add fruits and berries to your water.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Eat food with high water content:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> These include melons, strawberries, cucumbers, and broccoli, among others. Other foods include low-sodium soups, popsicles, and gelatins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Drink caffeine in moderation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Caffeine acts as a diuretic and flushes water out of your system, so it shouldn&#8217;t be your main source of liquid. As a result, consuming over 400 mg of caffeine a day can cause dehydration, dizziness, heartburn, and muscle tremors.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Using lotion: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This helps soften dry skin. You can also suck ice chips if you\u2019re unable to drink enough fluids.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Furthermore, newborns usually breastfeed about 8-12 times a day, so drinking a glass of water before or after feeding your baby can help you reach your daily quota without even thinking about it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to that, people undergoing chemotherapy should also stay hydrated, as treatment can cause dehydration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Taking Breast Vitamins<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sometimes, we may recommend our patients to take breast vitamins, such as vitamin D. Women who have low levels of vitamin D have a great risk of developing breast cancer, and recurrence can also occur in cancer survivors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are some vitamin D-rich foods that you can consume, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cod liver oil.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Salmon.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mushrooms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fortified cereals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trout.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, if you think you\u2019re not getting enough vitamin D, see a medical professional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Blood tests can help us determine your vitamin D serum level, and if it\u2019s low, you may have to revisit your doctor\u2019s office to have it checked again and adjust the dose accordingly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other people\u00a0 who may need to take vitamin D supplements include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those with chronic kidney disease.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those with obesity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those who are in their post-menopausal phase.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Women who are breastfeeding.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Limiting Alcohol Consumption<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Limiting alcohol consumption can also help with your breast health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the American Cancer Society Guideline for Diet and Physical Activity for Cancer Prevention, men should not drink more than two drinks per day. Women should limit their intake to no more than one drink.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Still, it is best not to drink alcohol at all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Women who drink alcohol have a 15% higher risk of developing breast cancer than those who don&#8217;t drink, as alcohol increases estrogen and hormone levels associated with hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That said, studies indicate that with each drink, the risk increases by another 10%.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alcohol consumption can also lead to other cancers, such as mouth, throat, liver, and colon cancer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Following a Dense Breast Tissue Diet<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Having dense breasts is one of the risk factors for breast cancers, and we can access breast density through a mammogram, MRI, or ultrasound.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some factors that can lead to an increased breast density include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Genetics.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lifestyle factors.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menstruation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hormonal signatures.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some foods can increase breast density, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Red meat consumption.<\/span><\/li>\n<li 400\">Eliminating caffeine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Decreasing or eliminating red meat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Increasing fiber to 45 mg per day.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drinking green tea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Avoiding alcohol consumption.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eating vegetables that contain carotenoids, such as style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at least once a month &#8211; this can also help you become familiar with your breasts and how they look and feel, so if you notice any abnormalities, you can alert your doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can check your breasts in front of a mirror, leave your arms at your sides and then raise them high overhead.
