Our Mission
Conveniently located in Miami, Florida, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Carlos J. Lavernia has dedicated his life to treating musculoskeletal conditions and developing better ways to deliver care.
Dr. Lavernia has been practicing since 1992 and performing more than 10,000 joint replacements. In addition, he has developed hip and knee replacement implants and instruments. He is widely published and has conducted numerous studies in the field of orthopedics. Implants he helped design have been implanted in over one million patients.
As a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Lavernia specializes in hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, robotic surgery of the hip and knee, and hip and knee revisions. He is affiliated with Mercy Hospital, South Miami Hospital, Holy Cross and Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he regularly performs orthopedic surgery procedures.
Dr. Lavernia is a Courtesy Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Florida International University.
