About the Practice

We are a group practice specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. As women, we have a unique perspective of the joys and struggles that women face.  As mothers raising our own families, we can combine our own experiences with medical knowledge to guide women through all stages of life.

Dr. Pelaez made a decision to enter the field of women's health the first day she spent on the labor floor in medical school and continues to enjoy practicing both obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Pelaez is married with two children. Dr. Pelaez enjoys reading and travel with her family in her free time.

Dr. Rebecca Karsenti

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Rebecca F. Karsenti was born and raised in South Florida. She is a board-certified OB/GYN with additional expertise in adolescent gynecology, infertility, contraception, and minimally invasive surgery. Her education and training has taken her to Duke University, University of Miami, and Tufts-New England Medical Center, and back to Miami where she see patients today. Dr. Karsenti is married with three kids, and she is actively involved in her children's school and local charities. When she isn't seeing patients at her Miami OB/GYN office, Dr. Karsenti enjoys yoga, dance, reading, and spending time with family. She speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. K. Magalie Apollon

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Katia Apollon is originally from Baltimore, MD and has lived in Miami since 2003. She is an active member of the Department of OBGYN at Baptist Hospital and is currently serving as Vice Chief of the department. Her areas of expertise include abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, contraception, menopause, adolescent gynecology, vulvar and vaginal concerns, sexual dysfunction, management of pregnancy, and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean section). When not working, Dr. Apollon enjoys spending time with her two active boys. She also loves the theater and attends when she can.

Dr. Lina Caicedo

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Lina Ximena Caicedo was born and raised in Colombia and moved to Tampa, Florida after graduating from High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida and her Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. During residency her research projects included the effect pelvic organ prolapse has on the self-esteem of Hispanic women and the POP-Q test as a tool to measure the cervical length. In addition, during the last year of residency she started a research/quality improvement project regarding the perception of Tdap vaccination among pregnant women in the U.S-Mexican border. The goal of this project is to improve vaccination rates during prenatal visits and during hospital admission. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She loves to read as well as spend time with her husband and son.
