Dr. Matthew Casavant

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Matthew Casavant is the founding physician of South Lake OB/GYN, established in 2002. He is originally from Rhode Island but was raised in Oviedo, Florida. He is a UCF and Novasoutheastern graduate and completed his residency at St. Vincent's Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Casavant is a pioneer for minimally invasive surgery and was the first certified robotic surgeon at South Lake Hospital and has performed more of these procedures than any other physician in Lake County. Dr. Casavant and his wife live in Minneola with their three children and he had the incredible privilege of delivering all three of them.

Dr. Joseph Kerpsack

Dr. Joseph Kerpsack has over two decades of experience in obstetrics and gynecology. He is originally from Ohio and graduated from the University of Miami and Wright State University. He completed his residency at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans before moving back to Ohio where he worked in a private practice for 12 years before finally returning to Florida. He lives with his wife and four children in Clermont.

Dr. Maria Acosta

Dr. Diaz was born and raised in Bogotoa, Colombia until she moved to Florida at the age of 11. She is a graduate of the University of North Florida and Florida State University and completed her residency at Winnie Palmer Hospital. Dr. Diaz currently lives in Winter Garden with her husband and young son.

Dr. Tamara Richards

Dr. Tamara Richards, while originally a Florida native, is a graduate of Mississippi College and the University of Mississippi and upon completion of her residency at LSU she became a faculty member where she taught for six years. Dr. Richards lives in Oakland with her husband and two young daughters.

Gloria Perez, D.O.

Dr. Gloria Perez joins South Lake OB/GYN this fall after completing her OB/GYN residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center. Dr. Perez was born and raised in Clermont, and is excited to start her career here in her hometown. During her four-year residency she managed and cared for high-risk pregnancies and performed complex gynecologic surgeries. Dr. Perez is additionally trained in minimally invasive office based surgeries, decreasing the need for hospitalizations and fewer risks to her patients. Dr. Perez has long been intrigued by science and medicine as evidenced by obtaining her Masters degree in Biochemistry. Soon after starting medical school, she quickly learned that her love and appreciation for the field of obstetrics and gynecology was unsurpassed. She is passionate about creating personal relationships with her patients and considers it a privilege to be able to participate in their most special, exciting and difficult moments. Dr. Perez makes it a priority to care for her patients with respect and dignity as they enter into each new stage of life. She aims to be an instrument on behalf of the ultimate healer, bringing her patients the very best care in body, mind and spirit. Dr. Perez also feels passionately called to bridge the gap between medicine and missions both locally and globally, having participated in multiple international medical missions in Africa. Dr. Perez is married to her high school sweetheart of 10 years and has a beautiful daughter who brings immense joy to their lives. Her passion for family and community is what compelled Dr. Perez to return to Clermont. She looks forward to working with South Lake OB/GYN and assisting patients as they start and grow their own families.
