Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by generalized musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue and problems with sleep, memory, and mood. Researchers believe that fibroids amplify sensations of pain by affecting the way the brain processes pain signals.<\/p>\n

Occasionally, symptoms begin after significant physical trauma, surgery, infection, or psychological stress. In other cases, symptoms gradually build up over time, without a triggering event.<\/p>\n

Women are more prone to fibroids than men. Many people with fibromyalgia also have tension headaches, temporomandibular joint disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, and depression.<\/p>\n
