Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Salom earned his medical degree at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as part of a seven-year joint college-medical school program. He also completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Emery M. Salom is one of only a few in the country to be triple Board-Certified in Gynecologic Oncology, Gynecology, and Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology.

Dr. Salom is expertly trained to perform minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, treat gynecologic cancers, complex gynecologic conditions including endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic prolapse, urinary incontinence, management of postoperative complications and reconstructive pelvic procedure.

Dr. Salom is a passionate academic and believes academics and research are the cornerstones to providing relevant and current medical management. He is the author of five book chapters, 37 publications and more than 100 presentations and abstracts. For the past 10 years, Dr. Salom has served both as the inaugural obstetrics and gynecology clerkship director and associate professor at Florida International University. Balancing a busy practice and coordinating the academic and clinical experience for third and fourth-year students in hospitals and office settings can be challenging. But Dr. Salom raised the bar by developing an accredited gynecologic fellowship at The Center for Gynecologic Oncology under the auspices of The Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons.
