Dr. Duerkes delivered my son as an on call Doctor two years ago. As a first-time mom I was a little nervous especially about having someone I really didn’t know deliver my son at 36 weeks, but Dr. Duerkes was awesome , very caring and make me feel comfortable. He had an excellent attitude , very patience and care about his patients. My delivery went well. He did such an amazing job that my two sisters-in-law are now seeing him . Thank you Dr. Duerkes for your good work. I have recommended him to so many mommies to be because he is just amazing!!
I went to go see Dr. Duerkes for the first time on an emergency visit as I was experiencing some uncomfortable symptoms. His office was able to get me in the same day, his staff was extremely nice and accommodating and made me feel comfortable immediately. The Dr. saw me quickly and was fast acting and thorough throughout his decision making process. He asked that I go immediately to the Emergency Room to confirm his suspected diagnosis. He was calming yet informative throughout this process, as I had many questions and was rightfully frightened. His beliefs were correct and I was taken into surgery later that night. The Dr. performed the procedure and I was sent home the following day. Dr. Duerkes potentially saved my life due to his quick thinking and informed decision making. He is THE BEST ONGYN AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE!
I can not say enough great things about Dr. Duerkes and his wonderful staff. After a horrible experience with my old OBGYN I was left without a DR being 37weeks pregnant and also a high risk pregnancy. It is extremely rare to find a dr who would take any Patient that late in the game with their pregnancy. Dr. Duerkes took me on and I will forever be grateful to him and his staff. He takes his time to sit with you and explain everything. His demeanor and bedside manner is amazing. He delivered my daughter 2 weeks ago and it was such a positive experience. All the nurses at memorial west love him and and assured me I made the right decision by switching Doctors.. I am so happy that I did. Thank you Dr. Duerkes and to his staff as well for turning a stressful situation into a beautiful experience.
I did my research looking for a good doctor and I couldn’t choose better, he is this doctor who really listens to his patient, he pay attention to you and makes you feel comfortable and confident. The staff is also really good., they are very professional.

From day one Dr. Duerkes has made me feel comfortable and cared for. He took me as a patient mid-pregnancy and after our first appointment, he said you’ve found a new home….Welcome! From then to now, I feel welcomed each and every visit. He is professional, very knowledgeable and up to date, in his field.
I am very particular when it comes to my medical care being that I am in the field myself. Dr. Duerkes is excellent. A very knowledgeable, caring and compassionate person. I just had my second son and he was my OB. I have never had a physician call and text me himself like Dr. Duerkes does. I was pregnant through the pandemic and Dr. Duerkes still allowed my husband to come to the visits with me. This very much appreciated. The girls in the office are wonderful. I refer all my patients to this office.
If there were more stars to give, I would. Dr. Duerkes is patient, positive & everything else in the book. I’ve been going to him for a little over 2 years & he is simply the best. He explains everything thoroughly, gives advice & most importantly gives more than 1 option for solution if any problems were to arise. Dr. James is the best gynecologist I have ever met and his staff and nurses are very kind, professional and friendly. I was new to southflorida and couldn’t find gynecologist as I was 32 weeks pregnant .Then I found him online and scheduled an appointment with him after seeing his good reviews. During my first visit, he made me feel so comfortable ,secure and answered all my questions that I felt I’m in good hands now. I had an repeated csection and I didn’t even feel like I was operated and recovered very quickly than my first csection. He was on time for surgery and cared me a lot until my hospital stay. Everything went well smoothly. I’m always grateful to him and i would highly recommend him to anyone who looks for good gynecologist .
If you want a Doctor that listens to you, that doesn’t rush you when asking questions, that answer every question asked in a way that you understand. Then, I will suggest you to go with Dr. Duerkes, you will not regret it. I have been his patient for so many years and I don’t have a single complaint.
