Fortunately, there have been many exciting advances in the prevention, screening, treatment and prognosis for women with breast cancer. We have had the privilege of participating and even leading some of those research efforts. It is important that your breast cancer surgeon be involved in research and collaboration so that you will have available to you at home in South Florida the latest advances, and if experimental therapy is an option, your surgeon should facilitate your access to a research center.
