Dr. Ivan Carreras was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. He obtained his medical degree at Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba as part of the Highest Achievers Medical Honor Society. He moved to the US in 2006 and after quickly completing the medical boards, started his residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University and its affiliated University Medical Center hospital in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Carreras has over fifteen years’ experience in primary care, with special interests in preventive care and chronic disease management. He is the founding member of Carreras Medical Center, a member of the American College of Physicians, and board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Carreras resides in Miami, FL with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, playing video games, and spending time with his family. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
