Well Women Exam

Well Women Exam

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists defines a woman’s yearly well woman exam as “a fundamental part of medical care [that] is valuable in promoting prevention practices, recognizing risk factors for disease, identifying medical problems, and establishing the clinician–patient relationship. The annual health assessment should include screening, evaluation and counseling, and immunizations based on age and risk factors. The interval for specific individual services and the scope of services provided may vary in different ambulatory care settings. The performance of a physical examination is a key part of an annual health assessment visit, and the components of that examination may vary depending on the patient’s age, risk factors, and physician preference.”

Stanton Gynecology is here to help you with all of your preventative health needs. If you have a specific medical problem or problems that you would like addressed outside of the routine annual appointment, you may be asked to reschedule your annual so your acute problem can be addressed or return at a later date to address any additional complex medical problems. We value your time and make it our priority for you to have your voice heard.

If this is your first visit to a gynecologist, take a deep breath and know that we are here to help you in any way we can. You’ve got this!
