José R Nieves-Meléndez, M.D.
Dr. José R Nieves-Meléndez graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from the University of Puerto Rico in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He completed his medical training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine with honors in 2016 and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Nieves joined Trogolo Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2020 and works closely with Dr. Trogolo to provide specialized gynecologic and obstetrical care to patients in the Jacksonville area. Dr. Nieves has vast experience in both routine and high-risk obstetrics as well as complex gynecologic conditions and surgeries. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and believes in working with his patients to provide an individualized plan of care.
Outside of work, Dr. Nieves enjoys participating in triathlons and is an avid Latin percussionist.
Dr. Nieves is excited to be part of Trogolo Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Jacksonville community.
Dr. Nieves speaks fluent English and Spanish.
