What exactly is botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a natural, purified protein, which in very low doses relaxes the overactive muscles that cause frown lines to form. Treatment is simple and non surgical, although it involves tiny injections in the wrinkle areas.

You will begin to see the effect of the product within 2-7 days depending on the product you choose.  Results last, on average, 3-4 months.

  Is it safe?

Botulinum toxins have been safely used to treat a variety of conditions for more than 15 years, all the products are now FDA-approved for the temporary treatment of frown lines in people aged 18 to 65.

Will it radically change my appearance?

No. Expect a dramatic improvement in the appearance of your frown lines. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of the men and women surveyed rated the improvement in their brow lines as moderate to better. Overall, you look more relaxed and refreshed.

As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin and subcutaneous tissue begins to diminish, allowing the skin to “sink down” allowing wrinkles and folds to form. Sometimes you will even notice a hollowness to your cheeks. However, with injectable gel fillers, you don’t have to just sit back and let it happen!

Juvéderm and Restylane products are smooth consistency gel fillers made of hyaluronic acid (HAs)—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. These fillers will be injected under the skin in a variety of layers to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

Fillers provide a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know!) In fact, most observers notice you look younger, fresher, and more relaxed.

Immediate Results

  • With filler products the injection process takes only about 15-30 minutes and results are immediate. Plus, there’s minimal recovery or downtime. So, you can step into our office for treatment and step right back into your life.
  • With all filler treatments results are immediate, there may be a small amount of swelling that will resolve in 5-7 days to reach your ultimate response. Most dermal filler results typically last about a year or perhaps slightly longer. Some people metabolize the filler faster than others requiring touch-ups sooner. Since results may vary, be sure to discuss your expectations with your experienced provider.

Planning your Procedure

  • Before your treatment: Avoid any medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), for at least a week prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
  • When you arrive: We will ask about your medical history, including any allergies you may have or medications you may take. We will discuss your specifics needs and wants and will assess your facial structure and volumes. We will also discuss the benefits of the different fillers depending on your specific needs.
  • Before the procedure: Although anesthesia is not required, we may use topical or injectable anesthesia to numb the treatment area first.
  • After the procedure: There is minimal recovery or downtime. Mild bruising can occur.

For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. Studies have shown that these are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or less. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply an ice pack for a brief period.

Seeing results: You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. And one treatment could smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year! However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch-up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.

What is a labiaplasty?

The term labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed vaginal rejuvenation procedure and it can relieve symptoms women experience from twisting and tugging of the labia.

Reasons patients want a labiaplasty

Women opt for surgery for a variety of reasons, including pain from twisting and tugging of the labia when riding a bike or during intercourse, itching, irritation and self-consciousness.

What does a labiaplasty do?

The goal of the procedure is to reduce the labia minora so that they don’t hang below the hair-bearing labia majora. A labiaplasty may be performed to reduce asymmetry when one is longer than the other, or, more commonly, to reduce the length of both labia so that the labia no longer twist, tug or fall out of a bathing suit

Earlobe repair is performed to treat a wide variety of cosmetic earlobe irregularities which may include stretched, partially or completely torn earlobes.

Typically, earlobe tears occur as a result of the long-term wear of heavy earrings, which create an elongated and weakened earlobe. This elongated earlobe is more sensitive to tearing, which may occur naturally or as the result of a trauma.

When to Consider Earlobe Repair

Ideal candidates for earlobe repair are healthy individuals who have studied the procedure and its possible outcomes. Earlobe repair may be useful to treat:

  • Elongated earring canals
  • Torn earlobes
  • Damaged earlobes

Some factors may negatively contribute to the healing process, including smoking, a history of some medical conditions, the use of certain medications, and a history of gauged lobes.

What are the steps of the earlobe repair procedure?

A local anesthetic is administered prior to the procedure for maximum patient comfort. Generally the skin around the torn/stretched area is removed to make a raw surface for repair. The tissue and skin are sutured together, creating maximum support. Incisions are closed with fine sutures for minimal scarring, though some incision lines may be visible along the rejoined ear line. Any incision lines should continue to fade for up to six months.

How will I feel after the procedure?

Most patients of earlobe repair experience very little pain following the procedure. Any pain can be effectively managed with over-the-counter pain relief medications, such as Tylenol. Discomfort should dissipate over the first 24 hours.

Are there any possible complications?

There is a very small chance of complications as a result of this procedure, including irregular scarring, pigmentation or asymmetry. Just as in other surgical procedures, there is a slight chance of infection, bleeding and poor wound healing. All of these risks will be discussed in depth during the consultation process.

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.

The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and colors. People might choose to get the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots
  • Enlarged pores and blackheads
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Dull-looking skin complexion
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage

Think face-shaving but with a surgical-grade scalpel in the steady hand of a qualified practitioner. It is absolutely not a quick fix done with a disposable razor.

As a chemical-free form of exfoliation, the specialist blade is scraped over your skin surface to gently remove the dead surface cells and that little layer of peach-fuzz facial hair, leaving the skin ultra-smooth, fresh and glowing.

Plus, when you apply your makeup afterwards, you’ll find it goes on as smoothly as silk, which is why dermaplaning is in such demand.

Individuals concerned about early signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles or acne scars, can benefit from microneedling. Also called collagen induction therapy (CIT), microneedling stimulates the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This results in smoother, tighter, more youthful-looking skin.

How Is Microneedling Performed?

Our microneedling procedure uses a state-of-the-art medical device that has tiny “microneedles” which gently create tiny channels in the skin’s top layer. We can apply a topical anesthetic before beginning the treatment to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the treatment. The tiny wounds prompt the skin to regenerate damaged cells and increase the production of collagen and elastin to naturally repair itself. The depth of the needle penetration may be adjusted to the condition and thickness of the skin you want to target.

What Does Microneedling Treat?

Microneedling addresses many common concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture. These versatile treatments benefit the skin in a variety of ways such as:

  • Improving elasticity
  • Increasing firmness
  • Softening fine lines and wrinkle
  • Repairing acne scars
  • Minimizing pore size
  • Reducing excess pigmentation
Also called chemexfoliation, derma peeling

Do you wish that you could simply peel signs of aging from your skin? Chemical peels to do just this. A chemical peel can diminish many signs of aging on the face as well as the hands, neck, and chest.

Chemical peels also treat some skin conditions. Dermatologists use chemical peels to treat some types of acne and conditions that discolor the skin.

Whether you receive a chemical peel to diminish signs of aging or treat a skin condition, you can see:

  • Fewer lines and wrinkles
  • More even skin color
  • Brighter complexion
  • Smoother skin

Some chemical peels require downtime.

Chemical peels treat:

  • Acne (some types)
  • Age spots
  • Discoloration (blotchy complexion, uneven skin tone)
  • Dull complexion
  • Fine lines (especially under the eyes and around the mouth)
  • Freckles
  • Melasma
  • Rough-feeling skin
  • Sun-damaged skin
EltaMD sunscreens help prevent sunburn and decrease the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun when used with other sun protection measures. EltaMD sunscreens are formulated with transparent zinc oxide and are noncomedogenic, sensitivity-free, fragrance-free, and paraben-free.

Get ready for an innovation in lashes.
LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not having enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

LATISSE® works effectively.
LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.

Clinically proven results you can see over time.
LATISSE® is FDA approved and effective. It’s a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients in a clinical trial saw results in as few as 8 weeks with full results after 12 to 16 weeks.
