It’s important for women to know more about this procedure and if a pap smear during pregnancy is allowed. Pap Smear is a procedure used to diagnose cervical cancer in women. The test is performed at one of our two offices in Doral or Miami Beach by collecting cells from the woman’s lower end of the uterus, called the cervix.
If your doctor detects abnormal pap smear results, the test will be considered positive, but this doesn’t mean you have cervical cancer.
Abnormal pap smear results can require a few different courses of action. Let your medical specialist advise you on how to proceed and resolve the issue.
It’s also important to note that a pap smear during pregnancy is completely safe for you and the baby.
