Ovarian Cyst Treatment
in Boca Raton & Boynton, FL

An ovarian cyst is a kind of sac filled with fluid that develops on top or inside an ovary. Most ovarian cysts are benign (not cancerous) and do not cause any symptoms. However, some ovarian cyst symptoms involve discomfort or pain, particularly if the cysts become large or twisted. Ovarian cysts can be treated with a variety of methods, depending on the size and type of the cyst, as well as the woman’s symptoms and overall health.

For small, asymptomatic cysts, a “watch and wait” approach may be used, in which the ovarian cyst is monitored over time to see if it changes in size or shape. If the cyst is causing discomfort or pain, it can be treated with medication such as birth control pills, which can help to regulate hormone levels and reduce the growth of cysts. Surgery may be needed for cysts that are large or have unusual features. If the ovarian cyst is found to be cancerous, additional treatment, such as chemotherapy, may be necessary.

Ruptured Ovarian Cyst

A ruptured ovarian cyst is a condition in which an ovarian cyst breaks open and releases its contents into the abdominal cavity. This can cause a variety of symptoms, depending on the size and location of the cyst. Some women with a ruptured ovarian cyst may experience sharp or dull pain on one side of the lower abdomen, as well as swelling or tenderness in the area. They may also have nausea, vomiting, or fever. Other women may have no ruptured ovarian cyst symptoms at all.

The rupture of an ovarian cyst can occur spontaneously or due to an underlying condition such as endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Dr. Ciaccio is one of the best doctors I have ever met. She has been so attentive and supportive throughout my entire pregnancy. I was diagnosed with COVID at 32 weeks pregnant. We set up a telehealth appt and she immediately contacted my perinatologist to Collaborate with him on a plan of care. She was accessible to me daily. I could not have gotten through the nightmare of COVID during pregnancy without her support.
Whenever I called the on call doctor they always responded immediately. They were all so kind and helpful at all hours of the night and day. I am so thankful I found Women’s Health Partner’s!!

If you are pregnant and looking for the best care, you found the right place. I saw a few doctors from the Women’s Health Partner office in Boca, and they were all amazing. Most important is that when the labor time came, Dr. Newman and his team were there for me. They were the most caring and experienced doctors you can ask for. Dr. Ciaccio delivered my baby. If I have to do it again I wouldn’t excitate to be with them. I can go on and on on how much I’m thankful for their service. I am also grateful for the receptionist, specially Heidi, she is wonderful.
