Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
in Boca Raton & Boynton, FL

Pelvic floor rehabilitation, also known as pelvic floor therapy, is a form of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles and connective tissue in the pelvic region. The goal of pelvic floor rehabilitation is to improve the function and strength of the pelvic floor muscles, which can help alleviate various conditions, including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pelvic floor pain.

The therapy usually starts with a thorough evaluation of the patient’s symptoms and medical history, as well as a physical examination of the pelvic region. The therapist will then develop a personalized treatment plan regarding pelvic floor dysfunction that may include exercises to strengthen and stretch the pelvic floor muscles, as well as manual therapy to release tight or restricted muscles.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic floor muscle exercises, also known as Kegel exercises, can help tone and strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor. These exercises are simple, but they need to be performed correctly to be effective. Our physical therapists can teach you how to contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles properly.

Manual therapy may also be used to help release tight or restricted muscles in the pelvic region and manage pelvic floor dysfunction. This might include techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and soft tissue mobilization. These techniques can help reduce pelvic floor pain and improve mobility in the pelvic region.

In addition to these specific techniques, pelvic floor physical therapists at Women’s Health Partners may also incorporate patient education, biofeedback, and electrical stimulation to enhance treatment outcomes.

Dr. Ciaccio is one of the best doctors I have ever met. She has been so attentive and supportive throughout my entire pregnancy. I was diagnosed with COVID at 32 weeks pregnant. We set up a telehealth appt and she immediately contacted my perinatologist to Collaborate with him on a plan of care. She was accessible to me daily. I could not have gotten through the nightmare of COVID during pregnancy without her support.
Whenever I called the on call doctor they always responded immediately. They were all so kind and helpful at all hours of the night and day. I am so thankful I found Women’s Health Partner’s!!

If you are pregnant and looking for the best care, you found the right place. I saw a few doctors from the Women’s Health Partner office in Boca, and they were all amazing. Most important is that when the labor time came, Dr. Newman and his team were there for me. They were the most caring and experienced doctors you can ask for. Dr. Ciaccio delivered my baby. If I have to do it again I wouldn’t excitate to be with them. I can go on and on on how much I’m thankful for their service. I am also grateful for the receptionist, specially Heidi, she is wonderful.

Dr. Tara Ruberg is a wonderful doctor! She is so friendly and warm. She calls you personally with results, even when everything is negative and normal, which is so personal and kind. She takes time and answers all of your questions. I highly recommend her!
