About Plantation Gynecology

Gynecology Questions

If you miss a pill, take it as soon as you remember, even if it is in the middle of the night. Then take the next pill at the correct time. If you miss a pill by a whole day, take both the missed pill and today’s pill together. This frequently causes some nausea.

Missing more than one pill in the same pack will dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the pill. Missing pills or taking them late reduces the effectiveness and can cause breakthrough bleeding.

There are many causes of vaginal bleeding. Please call the office to discuss your individual situation.

At Plantation Gynecology, we accept most major commercial insurance plans. We do not, however, participate with Medicare or Medicaid. Please contact your insurance company or you may call our office at (954) 473-2011 to find out if we accept your insurance plan.

If your insurance plan requires you to pay a copay, coinsurance, and/or a deductible, you will need to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

If you have a question related to your bill or insurance, please contact our billing specialists (954) 473-2011.

If one of our doctors suggests a specialist evaluation or diagnostic testing that requires a referral, we will make every effort to provide this for you as soon as possible. Some referrals require insurance preauthorization and cannot be processed immediately. Insurance guidelines prohibit us from backdating referrals. We require three business days for the processing of routine referrals.

Doctors at Plantation Gynecology have hospital or surgery center affiliations with:

  • Westside Regional Medical Center
  • Outpatient Surgical Services
  • HCA Florida University Hospital

We manage communication with pharmacies electronically. If you need a refill, the most efficient method is to ask your pharmacist to send us an electronic refill request. We will respond to these requests within the same or the next business day in almost all instances. Please be aware that we will not authorize refills for patients that are overdue for their routine annual exam. If your pharmacy is unable to do this for you, the next most efficient method is to send your request through the patient portal.

We receive almost all laboratory, pathology and Pap smear results electronically. These results are posted automatically in your patient portal as soon as we review them. While we will call or contact you through portal messaging to provide more detailed information about these results, you will be able see them and see messages from us about them in the patient portal.

Federal law requires the mammogram center to communicate directly with you about your result. In addition, we will post the full report in your patient portal. Therefore, we do not otherwise communicate normal results of routine breast imaging. Non-routine imaging and abnormal imaging results will be communicated to you by phone or portal message.

All Pap smear results will be posted in your patient portal. Results that are not normal will also be communicated to you by phone, portal message, or letter.

PATIENT FEEDBACK

“Every visit we are greeted by the warm and friendly staff, never made to wait long, and made to feel as if we were the most important patient. We have not only recommended every friend who has ever asked to Dr. Grenitz and Dr. Hood, but several family members as well.”

Michelle J., patient

“It’s a way for us to always remember him and how lucky we were to have such an outstanding and caring physician help ensure her safe arrival into this world. I plan to continue having Dr. Hood and his entire staff by our side for whatever God has planned for our family and am forever grateful for everything he has done for us!”

Sylvia M., patient

“When choosing a physician I found that the number one thing on my priority list was not the number of years of practice, where they went to school, or how many babies they had delivered; what mattered most to me was how they made me feel when I was in their care.”

Verified, patient
