Dr Leonardo J Henriquez, born in New York City while his father was training at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center, but a native of Venezuela. He received his medical degree from Central University of Venezuela. In preparation for his Surgical career, he completed a two-year training in Surgical Pathology and then graduated in General Surgery at the University of Massachusetts and became Board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

After becoming a pioneer in Minimally Invasive Surgery, due to high volume of Breast Pathology, decided to get extra training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, at Einstein Institute in Sao Paolo, Brazil, then at the European Institute of Oncology, in Milan, Italy and finally at the Institute Curie in Paris.

In 2006 became a Professor of Minimally invasive Surgery at the University of Miami. During those 10 years in the Department, he founded the Jackson South Breast Center, where he acted as Director of the center until he departed from the University of Miami. Dr Henriquez was then hired by the Gastro Health Organization, as their Minimally Invasive surgeon for the following 6 years, until recently when he joined the Breast Care Center of Miami, with the Femwell family.
