Dr. Jonathan D. Black is a Board-Certified Gynecologic Oncologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he also earned a Master of Science in Public Health (MPH). Dr. Black completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Black is expertly trained to perform minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, treat gynecologic cancers, complex gynecologic conditions including endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, vulvar/vaginal issues and prescribe conventional and personalized chemotherapy and palliative care. He has a special interest in cancer genetics, early ovarian cancer detection and Sexuality, Intimacy and Menopause Symptoms (SIMS) in cancer survivorship.
His patients praise him not only for his level of dedicated professionalism but also for his exceptionally caring attitude, unlimited patience, warm bedside manner and personalized approach to treatment.
A dedicated researcher, Dr. Black has published more than 50 publications in the field and has won many awards for his clinical and laboratory research. He was also recognized for his stellar teaching of residents and medical students at Yale University School of Medicine and for his compassionate approach to care. Dr. Black continues to train healthcare professionals from Barry University, Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University in private practice. He has also traveled on medical missions to Vietnam, Colombia, Thailand, Jamaica, and Uganda and is always looking for new opportunities to share his expertise.
