Cosmetic Procedures And Photos

There are many different types of cosmetic procedures.  The most popular cosmetic procedures are anti-wrinkle treatments that are done with Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® botulinum toxins.  Next are volume-adding soft-tissue filler treatments which are done with products like Restylane®, Juvederm®, and Belotero Balance®.

Other treatments include light and laser treatments to reduce the appearance of unwanted hair, blood vessels, pigment, wrinkles, and skin laxity.  Non-surgical skin lifting can be done with absorbable threads like NovaThreads®.  Microneedling with devices like the CosmoPen® can be used for resurfacing unwanted scars and enlarged pores.  At Miami Dermatology and Cosmetics we offer treatment options to meet the needs of all of our patients.  Choose the cosmetic treatments and procedures that are best for your skin care needs:

Belotero Balance® is a hyaluronic acid filler used for soft tissue augmentation. It is especially used to treat the tear trough area under the eyes. It lasts for up to 6 months.

Bellafill is a soft tissue filler used to treat acne scars and moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It lasts up to 5 years.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only approved prescription treatment that is used to temporarily improve the look of the glabellar frown lines and the lateral canthal lines also known as “crow’s feet”. Treatments take effect in about a week and last for up to 4 months.

The CosmoPen Microneedling System is a collagen induction treatment (CIT) where an electric pen uses small needles to make numerous small microchannels in the skin. The skin responds by building new collagen as it repairs itself, and these small microchannels can be used to infuse nutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, peel agents) directly into the skin tissue during the treatment. Microneedling is used to treat photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, thickened scars, disorders of hyperpigmentation, male pattern hair loss, and more!

Dysport® is a botulinum toxin used to relax the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines), without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Dysport takes effect in about a week and lasts for up to 4 months.

The Fraxel™ laser is a fractional resurfacing laser that is used to treat brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and acne scars. Because it is a fractional treatment that only treats a fraction of the skin surface, there is less associated downtime, and quicker recovery time!

Juvéderm® Ultra XC is a hyaluronic acid filler that is injected into the facial tissue for soft tissue augmentation. It is FDA-approved for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and into the perioral area to smooth perioral lip lines, and lasts for up to 1 year.

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is a hyaluronic acid filler that is injected into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds or smile lines. It is a more robust formulation than Juvéderm® Ultra XC, and lasts for up to 1 year.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC injectable gel is a hyaluronic acid filler FDA-approved for use in the correction of age-related volume loss in the cheek area. It lasts for up to 2 years.

One of the most popular laser treatments is laser hair reduction. It is safe for all skin types. Each laser treatment targets pigmented hair follicles to cause the hair to grow slower and finer in texture.

The MedLite C6 laser is commonly used to treat pigmented lesions and tattoos. The laser directs short, quick pulses of laser energy to specific areas of the skin without damaging the skin around the targeted area.

The V-Beam laser is designed to treat red, vascular lesions that are caused by blood vessels that are present in the skin (e.g. rosacea, port wine stains, and hemangiomas).

Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler used for soft tissue augmentation, and is FDA-approved for use in the hands. Radiesse® rejuvenates the appearance of the hands by adding volume to the soft tissue in order to conceal the appearance of unsightly underlying bones and veins that may appear as the soft tissue is lost over time. It takes effect immediately and lasts up to one year.

Restylane-L® is used to add volume to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Restylane® Lyft is an injectable filler used to provide lift to the cheeks, and add volume to correct and smooth smile lines (nasolabial folds).

Restylane® Silk is an injectable hyaluronic acid filler that is used for correction of perioral lip lines and wrinkles. It lasts up to 6 months.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps replace lost collagen and corrects loss of facial volume. It lasts for up to 2 years.

The MedLite C6 laser is commonly used to treat pigmented lesions and tattoos. The laser directs short, quick pulses of laser energy with minimal damage to the surrounding skin.

Ulthera radiofrequency tissue tightening is the only FDA-approved procedure to non-invasively lift and tighten the upper and lower face, neck, submental, and decolletage areas.

Sclerotherapy is a treatment for unsightly varicose leg veins. A solution is injected into the veins, which causes the veins to close and become imperceptible. Two to three treatments are recommended to see good results.
