Karen Seetal-Kihei, APRN

Karen is originally from the beautiful twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Karen attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Miami, Florida. After graduating from Coral Gables Senior High School, she attended Florida International University, where she became a Baptist Scholar and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The foundation of her nursing career comes from ortho/neuro/medical surgical nursing, antepartum, postpartum and newborn nursery, where she served as a mentor and preceptor to nurses. After many years at the bedside and spending the latter years in maternal nursing, Karen wanted to make a difference in women’s health. Karen attended graduate school at Florida International University, where she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing and became Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health.

Upon graduating as a nurse practitioner, she became a nursing school instructor. Soon after, she had the opportunity to help create and open a new outpatient department of its kind under the Center for Women’s and Infants service-line, The South Miami Hospital Fibroid Center. After successfully opening and operating the fibroid center, another amazing opportunity presented to join private practice in 2018. Since then, this journey has come full circle by having the opportunity to grow old with her patients and practice exclusively with Dr. Joyce Miller. With over 19 years of experience, Karen is honored to be able to continue caring for her patients throughout their lifetime!

Karen utterly and completely enjoys spending time with her husband Benjamin and their two sons.

The most patient-centric visit I have ever had in my life. Karen takes the time to really understand you and what’s going on. She treats you like family. How often do you go to the doctors and feel “loved” and “cared for”? Thank you so much for improving my quality of life.
