Dr. Leah Utset
Dr. Utset was born in Chattanooga, TN, where she worked (and played) in her grandmother’s pediatric office for many summers. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate training, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She completed medical school at Vanderbilt University, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. She was honored with the Mildred T. Stahlman Award for Excellence in Pediatrics, as well as a Doris Duke Research Fellowship. Dr. Utset did her pediatrics residency at Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL, where she also served as Chief Resident and completed an Academic General Pediatrics fellowship. Prior to moving to Miami, she was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Director of the Primary Care Research Network at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. She lives with her husband, a Miami-born Pediatric Orthopedic Oncologist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and their two children.
