What We Believe

  • We believe that all children and adolescents should receive all of the vaccines on the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control.
  • We believe that vaccinating children and adolescents is among the most important services we perform as health care providers and that you can perform as parents.
  • We believe that vaccines are very effective in preventing serious illness and in saving lives.
  • We believe that vaccines are safe.
  • We believe, based upon evidence and scientific studies, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • We believe that thimerosal, a preservative used in vaccines for decades and that is still found in some vaccines, does not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • We believe it is only because vaccines are so effective at illness prevention that we are able to debate whether they should be given. Because of the success of vaccines, many of us have never seen a child with whooping cough, tetanus, polio, or bacterial meningitis. If we don’t vaccinate, these illnesses can again become widespread and lead to tragedy.

  • We believe that not vaccinating children with the MMR vaccine due to an erroneous study claiming that the vaccine caused autism has resulted in more measles outbreaks in the United States and Europe.

  • We believe that unvaccinated children put other children at risk for disease.

The bottom line: Vaccines are important to your child’s health.
