Kathryn Steckel CNM, APRN
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I was a Labor and Delivery nurse for 20 years before going back to school to become a Nurse-midwife. I graduated from Frontier University in Hyden, Kentucky in 2007 with my Master’s Degree in Midwifery, and post-Master’s in Women’s Health as a Nurse Practitioner. I also earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2017. I began my Midwifery career in a freestanding Birth Center in Bryn Mawr, PA, while also working at Reading Hospital and Medical Center as a triage midwife.
Prior to moving to Florida, I worked the past 9 years at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital in Northeast PA. This was a low risk community hospital where the midwives attended the deliveries. My husband and I have always dreamed on one day moving to Florida, and when the opportunity presented, we took the plunge. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and being outdoors, swimming or riding bikes.
