Endometrial ablation uses radiofrequency energy to treat and remove the lining of your uterus (endometrium). Dr. Gadh/Dr. Danastor uses NovaSure®, a safe, effective, FDA-approved endometrial ablation procedure that takes only five minutes.

Dr. Gadh/Dr. Danastor may recommend an in-office surgery if you have pain and symptoms that don’t resolve with nonsurgical treatments, like medications and lifestyle changes. She uses in-office surgeries to treat many common conditions, including:

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Abnormal Pap test results
  • Miscarriage
  • Displaced intrauterine device (IUD)

She may also perform in-office surgery to remove adhesions, which are bands of scar tissue that may develop after an infection or another surgery.

Then, she discusses the best treatment options for your specific condition. She spends time answering your questions so you can make an informed decision.

The details of your procedure vary depending on the type of surgery you need and the severity of your condition. Generally, in-office surgeries use local anesthesia to numb your cervix so you’re awake during the procedure. You may experience some mild cramping and spotting for a few days or weeks afterward.
