CHRISTINE F. EDWARDS
M.D., F.A.C.O.G

Dr. Christine Edwards has been serving the South Florida Medical community for over 23 years. This has been a culmination of a dream to provide a caring and sensitive environment for pregnant women in a very special way.

Dr. Edwards believes in doing things the best way possible and states- “I learn as much from my patients as they learn from me. Patients know their bodies best and we do them a great service by simply listening and involving them in their care.”
Graduating Valedictorian of her high school class, Dr. Edwards went to college at Barnard College of Columbia University. She was offered the opportunity to do research upon graduation for a year at Columbia University’s Medical Center.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York was the next stop, where she discovered her love and passion for the healthcare of women. She completed her residency at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and practiced general obstetrics and gynecology at Cornell Medical Center for two years before realizing that she particularly enjoyed helping women with complications have a successful and healthy pregnancy. She went back to train in a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship at Albert Einstein School of Medicine while maintaining a private practice (it was difficult to leave her patients behind!). Once her Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship was complete, Dr. Edwards practiced in Baltimore, MD as Assistant Director and Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Sinai Hospital and St. Agnes Hospital, respectively.

She has enjoyed teaching medical students and was an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University and at the University of Maryland Medical School. In addition to the practice of medicine, Dr. Edwards has enjoyed serving her community by serving first as Vice Chair, then Chair of OBGYN at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Ratón.

Dr. Edwards speaks English and Spanish and is learning Portuguese. She lives with her husband and has two children who are her pride and joy. She enjoys reading and is passionate about photography.

The practice is committed to the healthcare of all women and at times has arranged for medical equipment to be donated in her home country of Jamaica.
