Contraception IUD Nexplanon

There are a variety of contraceptive options available by prescription to assist with prevention of pregnancy.
Birth control pills: A pill taken on a daily basis that is either a combination of estrogen and progestin or progestin-only.
Vaginal ring (Nuvaring/Annovera): A small flexible ring that is inserted into the vagina. The ring is used for 3 weeks every month.
Contraceptive Patch: A transdermal patch applied to skin once a week for three weeks every month.
Contraceptive Injection (Depo-shot): A progesterone injection that is injected intramuscularly every 3 months.
Nexplanon: A small, flexible implant that is placed in the upper arm that provides pregnancy prevention for up to 3 years. This is a progestin only form of birth control and is considered long acting.
IUD: Liletta: A small, flexible intrauterine device that is placed in uterus to provide pregnancy prevention for up to 6 years. This is a progestin only form of birth control and is considered long acting.
Paragard: A small, flexible intrauterine device that is placed into the uterus to provide pregnancy prevention for up to 10 years. This is a non-hormonal birth control option that is considered long acting.
