About Us
After a long career practicing obstetrics and gynecology in Miami, Dr. Mendía established MiamiGynecology in 2017 to dedicate his services to the gynecological needs of his patients. The mission of MiamiGynecology is to provide the latest in gynecological services and women’s health with an emphasis in creating long-term relationships with patients.

Gynecology
Gynecology is the field of medicine that deals extensively with female reproductive health. Unlike obstetrics that takes care of pregnant women, gynecology usually treats women who are not pregnant. Gynecology comprises examinations, tests, and procedures that involve the female reproductive organs – vagina, ovaries, uterus, as well as the breasts.
Women’s Health
A term very commonly used these days interchangeably with gynecology is “women’s health”. The reason for this is that the role of the gynecologist has been broadened to more holistically address women’s health concerns beyond their reproductive system. In this expanded role, the gynecologist often serves as a primary care physician and patient advocate.
