MyoSure Myomectomy/Polypectomy
The MyoSure tissue removal procedure removes fibroids, polyps and other intrauterine tissue without having to remove the uterus. Your doctor inserts an instrument into your uterus through the vagina that gently cuts away at the unwanted tissue to take it out of your body. On average, a 3 cm fibroid (about the size of a grape) can be removed in approximately 10 minutes. The MyoSure procedure is designed to allow your doctor to remove any growths in your uterus, while preserving uterine function and form. Colposcopy
Colposcopy is a procedure to closely examine your cervix, vagina and vulva for signs of disease. During colposcopy, your doctor uses a special instrument called a colposcope. Your doctor may recommend colposcopy if your Pap test result is abnormal. If your doctor finds an unusual area of cells during colposcopy, a sample of tissue can be collected for laboratory analysis which would then guide your future treatment to return you to a normal Pap smear.
LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure)
LEEP is a treatment for pre-cancer of the cervix. This treatment is reserved for patients who may be at risk of developing cervical cancer and involves removal of the tissue with the affected cells. The patient experiences minimal discomfort and can resume her normal activities immediately. As with all procedures, patients need to continue with follow up as scheduled to assure successful treatment.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
Your pelvic floor contains a group of muscles that work like a sling to support the organs in your pelvis, including your bladder, uterus, and rectum. You control your bladder function by contracting and relaxing these muscles. An inability to do so makes controlling urination difficult and can often result in urinary incontinence symptoms. Pelvic floor therapy is a conservative approach that focuses on improving the function of your pelvic floor muscles to enable them to better support your core, bowel, bladder, and sexual function.
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. Hysteroscopy is done using a hysteroscope, a thin, lighted tube that is inserted into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. An operative hysteroscopy can be used to remove polyps, fibroids and adhesions.
