Gynecology can simply be defined as the branch of medicine that specializes in the diseases and routine care of the reproductive system of women. As such, in our office, we provide care for women from the teenage years and throughout the span of a woman’s life.Much of what we do starts with the yearly or well woman exam which is really a means to prevent disease. For example, the Pap smear is a way to screen for and prevent cervical cancer. And while most women come to the office for their “Pap”, that is just where the conversation begins.
Most of your visit will be spent speaking with Dr. Mendia who will be trying to assess your overall health and wellbeing while screening for underlying health issues. Our mission is to address all of your concerns. It is your visit.

I am a new patient of Dr. Mendia and I was so surprised to have such a good experience for a doctor visit that I usually dread. At first, I couldn’t figure out why the paperwork I had to fill out didn’t include my medical history. That is because you start out with a personal conference with the doctor’s full attention (and you get to be fully clothed, and not feel rushed!). Dr. Mendia is kind, has an excellent “bedside manner”, and takes time to answer questions. I am pleased to finally find a doctor I want to visit, and can also recommend.
