Dr. Anamar Aponte Mellado
Dr. Aponte was born and raised in San Juan, PR. She attended the University of PR for her undergraduate education, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Suma Cum Laude. She then pursued her graduate studies at the University of PR School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree in 2007, Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Aponte continued her post-graduate education through Residency at University District Hospital, University of PR, graduating in 2011 as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist.
She then moved with her husband Juan to The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio to pursue a research program specialized in women’s reproduction and fertility, publishing many papers in recognized OBGYN journals. Subsequently, Dr. Aponte moved to Chicago, IL where she began private practice in 2013 until 2018. After her son, Joaquín Ignacio was born, Dr. Aponte and her husband decided to move to South Florida to be closer to family and Puerto Rico. Dr. Aponte enjoys minimally invasive surgery and vaginal surgery. She is an experienced runner, completing multiple Full Marathons
