Office Policies

We offer evening appointments from 5 – 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to accommodate your schedule. This can also be done through our Patient Portal.

In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! Inform the emergency room staff that you are a patient of Wellington Pediatrics, and they will contact us.

If you have an urgent medical need and need to talk to Dr. Bruck or Kristin Archer, APRN after our regular hours or on weekends or holidays, please call our office at (561) 791-1935.

We are part of FirstCall, an after-hours nursing triage call center that operates after-hours during the week as well as on the holidays and weekends. This service is run by nurses that are specifically and extensively trained in pediatrics, usually in an ICU or ER setting, so you can be assured that they are highly qualified. They will address any concerns that occur after-hours and if needed, will contact the physician that is on call for concerns that cannot wait until regular business hours. These calls should not be to schedule appointments, reschedule appoints , request forms, etc.

If our nurses recommend your child needs to be seen when the office is closed, we recommend After Hours Pediatrics Urgent Care in Lake Worth (southeast corner of Lantana Road and Jog Road) for non-life threatening injuries or illnesses, or the pediatric ER at Palms West Hospital for serious emergencies.

At Wellington Pediatrics, we accept all commercial insurances; Medicaid, Medicaid MMA plans( Sunshine. Wellcare/Staywell and Miami Children’s Health Plan), Florida Healthy Kids (CHIP) plans, and some Affordable Care Act plans. Please contact your insurance company or you may call our office at (561) 791-1935 to find out if we accept your insurance plan.

Please be aware of your insurance policy benefits and limitations and make sure it is active before you arrive. If we cannot verify coverage then it will be your responsibility to pay in full at the time of visit.

If your insurance plan requires you to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you will need to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

If you have a question related to your bill or insurance, please contact our billing specialists at (561) 791-1935.

We see patients by appointment only and we do offer same day sick appointments for your convenience. Sick Patients who arrive without appointments will be given the next available open appointment. This could lead to a longer than normal wait time.

If one of our doctors suggests a specialist evaluation or diagnostic testing that requires a referral, we will make every effort to provide this for you as soon as possible. Some referrals require insurance preauthorization and cannot be processed immediately. Insurance guidelines prohibit us from backdating referrals. We require three business days for the processing of routine referrals. This can also be done through our Patient Portal.

Dr. Bruck and Kristin Archer, APRN have hospital affiliations with Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palms West Hospital.

Prescriptions and refills for established patients of Wellington Pediatrics are routinely issued during our regular office hours (see above). You can make your request by calling our office at (561) 791-1935. No refills are issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays, as the doctors do not have access to your medical records during those times. It is helpful to anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy. This can also be done through our Patient Portal.

We require 24 hour notice on all cancellations. We will attempt to accommodate all sick patients who arrive late with the next available appointment time. Keep in mind that there may be a longer wait. Patients who are more than 15 minutes late for Well Checkups may need to reschedule.
