Jean B. Samimy


Jean B. Samimy, MD, FACOG

1938 – 2014
Dr. Jean Samimy was raised and educated in France. He graduated from Paris Academy of Science and Medical School. Dr. Samimy had three years of Obstetric and Gynecological training in various University Hospitals in Paris before accepting a residency position in the United States.

In 1965, Dr. Samimy moved to N.Y.C. and completed four years of OB-GYN Residency and two years of Fellowship in Oncology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

He finished his training at N.Y. State University Hospitals (Kings County and Down State Medical Center).

Dr. Samimy was a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his tenure at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Samimy served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was on the medical staff of South Miami Hospital since 1974.

Love of warm climate, sailing and favorable community for raising a family brought Dr. Samimy to Miami. He founded a private OB-GYN group practice with Dr. Oberstein and Dr. Jimenez, later to be joined by Dr. Siman and Dr. Nikitin.

He is married to Dr. Lina Samimy, who trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City with a specialty in tumor pathology and cytology. They have three children and four grandchildren. Dr. Samimy practiced medicine with excellence, dedication and compassion towards his patients for 40 years. He will be missed.

Konstantin V. Nikitin, MD, FACOG

1965 – 2022
Dr. Konstantin V. Nikitin was born and raised in Uzbekistan. Dr. Nikitin earned his medical degree from Tashmi Medical School in Tashkent, USSR. He went on to complete his post-graduate training in Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesia.

After relocating to the United States, Dr. Nikitin took an interest in obstetrics and gynecology, and he decided to change his specialty. He completed an OB/GYN residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. During this residency, he focused on one of his primary interests: robotic surgery utilizing the DaVinci robot.

In addition to robotic surgery, Dr. Nikitin was also trained to provide a number of other services, including infertility treatment, cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, hysterectomies, and minimally-invasive gynecological procedure.

In 2009, Dr. Nikitin joined Dr’s Samimy, Jimenez & Siman, were he was a beloved physician and colleague.

Dr. Nikitin spoke English, Spanish, and Russian. He is married to his wife Maya. He was loved by the staff, respected by his colleagues. He was an advocate for his patients and practiced medicine with dedication and compassion. Every morning he would have a different story for the staff. He made everyone laugh, he was a ray of sunshine in the office. We will miss you.
