Being an Obstetrician/Gynecologist brings me a sense of fulfillment and purpose. It is a privilege for me to be an integral part of my patients' lives by truly knowing them and guiding them through important life moments while keeping them well and healthy. When my patients leave my office, it is my hope that they leave feeling listened to and understood, valued and cared for, and with the confidence that they are in qualified and caring hands.
Dr. Damaris Miranda grew up in California and earned her medical degree with Honors from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA. She completed her residency in a top ten Obstetrics and Gynecology program at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Miranda served as Chief Resident from 2004-2005 and was nominated for the Resident Excellence in Teaching and Humanism Award of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. She received the Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures Award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
After completing her residency, Dr. Miranda joined the faculty as Assistant Clinical Professor at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University and became an attending physician at the New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital. She joined South Miami OB-GYN Associates in 2006 and has more than 20 years of clinical experience.
