Being a nurse practitioner is truly a rewarding profession. I love being a provider of women’s general healthcare as well as helping future moms on their journey to motherhood. I am lucky to get to do this each and every day.
Born and raised in Miami, Kathleen received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Miami, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami School of Nursing & Health Studies, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the same institution.
Katie (as she prefers to be called) worked as a clinical registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Baptist Hospital for three years and in labor and delivery for two years at South Miami Hospital before joining South Miami OB-GYN Associates as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in 2010. In her role as APRN, Katie works in the Doral and South Miami offices as well as South Miami Hospital, providing OB-GYN care, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and lactation consultations and serving as the primary educator of prenatal/labor and delivery class. She also serves as the research coordinator, organizing and implementing research studies for the practice.
Katie has been an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University since 2017 where she serves as a clinical coordinator and instructs students who are studying for a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
