Thomas D. Horst, MD, of South Miami OB-GYN Associates in South Miami, Florida, is committed to providing quality, patient-focused, care to the women of South Miami and its surrounding communities. Dr. Horst was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Gilman School where he excelled in math and sciences and played varsity football, basketball, lacrosse, and golf. He then headed to North Carolina and graduated with a degree in mathematics from Duke University.
Before beginning his medical career, Dr. Horst returned to Gilman School where he was a mathematics teacher and coach for the football, basketball and lacrosse teams. He is proud to have won the Edward K. Dunn Award for excellence in teaching. His team won the junior varsity A conference football championship the same year. Dr. Horst cherishes his experience as a teacher and coach.
He graduated from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine and came to the University of Miami for residency training. As a chief resident, he received the John Ford Award for outstanding performance in gynecologic surgery. Dr. Horst is board certified and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He has been on staff at South Miami Hospital since 2003 and a part of South Miami OB-GYN Associates since 2005. He is dedicated to his patients and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and 2 young children.
