Contouring After Weight Loss
The Problem: Obesity remains a very common but difficult condition in the United States. Fortunately, many patients have had successful significant weight loss either with changes in lifestyle or weight loss surgery (bariatric surgeries such as gastric sleeve or gastric bypass). Upon losing much of this weight, the patient is often left with excess, deflated appearing skin.
The Goal: This skin can pose both cosmetic and disabling physical challenges and the patient may benefit from being tailored to have skin that fits their new thinner underlying body.
The Procedure: These procedures may involve any of the procedures we discussed prior such as abdominoplasty, breast lift with or without implants, thigh lift, arm lift, facelift, or buttock lift. Again, each of these options are to be customized to the patient’s body, health, and goals.
