OB-GYN is indeed the happy specialty. While the positivity of delivering babies was my initial attraction to the field of OB-GYN, I love the synthesis of medicine, surgery, and psychiatry in my practice. You know you made the right choice when after more than 40 years, you still look forward to Mondays.
Born in Philadelphia, Dr. Nathan Hirsch earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital which is a part of the University of Pennsylvania. After his residency, Dr. Hirsch served as a major in the army and served in Seoul, Korea, and Fort Dix, New Jersey as an OB-GYN.
In 1971, Dr. Hirsch moved to Florida on the recommendation of a fellow medical army buddy and joined a Coral Gables practice before establishing South Miami OB-GYN Associates. He has grown the practice to include 11 physicians and three APRNs and expanded the services beyond labor and delivery to include a full array of women’s health and aesthetics services.
